About Us

Founded in 1972, Buckeye PVA is a chapter of the national Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), operating according to the standards and practices established by PVA.

BPVA is, however, a separate 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The Ohio programs, services, education, and outreach conducted here are made possible by local volunteers, partners, sponsors, and donors.

PVA and its 32 chapters use expertise to be the leading force for:

• Quality health care for our members
• Research and education addressing spinal cord injury and dysfunction
• Benefits available as a result of our members’ military service
• Civil rights and other advocacy opportunities which maximize the independence of our members

To enable PVA to continue to honor this commitment, we must recruit and retain members who have the experience, energy, dedication, and passion necessary to manage the organization and ensure adequate resources to sustain the programs essential for PVA to achieve its mission.
